Parcels and Packages Policy

For members that require staff to handle their own shipping and receiving, some service fees will apply.

Mail

Studio members who want to have their letter mail sent to MakerLabs can get a mail slot. Mail slots are currently free of charge for current members.

Non-members can have their mail forwarded for a fee (Postage fees + $20+GST for the administration), otherwise will be sent back to the senders after one month.

Incoming Large/Heavy Packages

Large items need to be picked up on the day of arrival or storage fees will apply

Members must notify the front desk staff by email if they are anticipating a large shipment being sent directly to MakerLabs, and should plan to be present for the delivery.

If the member is not present for a delivery that involves the loading bay, there will be a handling fee of $30+GST/hour with a $15 + GST minimum. (+$15/hour if additional staff are needed). Shipment must be picked up by 9pm on the date of arrival, otherwise short term storage fees will apply.

Duties and Fees

If a package arrives with duties and a member is present/on site, the member will be called to process payment and intake the package.

If not on-site, members will be given the option of having MakerLabs pay the fees on their behalf and will be billed for the charges plus an administration fee of $15+GST or 15% of the brokerage/duty paid (whichever is greater).

MakerLabs will turn away couriers if we are unable to get hold of the member by phone.

Concierge Service

Members sending out multiple parcels (more than 5 within a calendar month) will be required to set-up a concierge service if they require MakerLabs' staff to facilitate customer pick-ups. Outgoing packages may be left at the front desk for member's clients to pick-up.

Members must notify MakerLabs by email for every package that they leave at the front desk, including details on what it is, where they left it, and their customer's name.

Members that have more than 5 pick-ups within a calendar month will receive an invoice for $30 + tax at the end of the month.
