24hr Membership Policy
After 3 months of regular membership in good standing, members can apply for 24 hour access to MakerLabs by emailing us.
All 24/7 Members are required to schedule a building safety and security orientation and sign our 24/7 members agreement. You can find the closing manual here:
24/7 members must first accept our member policy . In addition, the 24/7 Membership Contract must be agreed to and signed. Below are the 24/7 policies:
MakerLabs 24/7 Members have an increased level of trust and responsibility for the safety and security of
MakerLabs as outlined below. Your responsibilities start immediately with your 24/7 membership.
1.) As a 24/7 member, you’ll receive a fob that grants access to the east side (parking lot) door. You are responsible for any loss or misuse of your fob. If you lose your fob, please notify us via email at hello@makerlabs.com immediately. A replacement fob requires a $50 deposit.
2.) No entrances (alley gates, bay doors, side doors, etc) may be left unattended while open. If you open an entrance, you must close it.
3. ) Visitors must be escorted by a member of MakerLabs, and this member takes full responsibility for their their actions while on the premises. Visitors must leave the building when the escorting member leaves the building. Visitors are not allowed to use MakerLabs’ tools.
4.) No overnight sleeping is permitted.
5.) No open flames or fires are permitted without permission
6.) No parties or events (any gathering over 5 visitors) are permitted without prior approval from MakerLabs
7.) Members should send an email to hello@makerlabs.com if they become aware of any facility problems or issues that arise.
8.) Before 24/7 members leave MakerLabs their workspace (if in the community spaces) has to be cleaned up and cleared of tools & materials. Please refer to our short term storage policies.
9.) The CNC router, CNC laser cutter, and welders cannot be used after hours without staff permission and supervision.
10.) Fobs cannot be shared or loaned to anyone. 24/7 fobs cannot be transferred between members.
11.) 24/7 members must know the location of the thermostats, light switches/remotes, door keys, fire alarms, first aid station.
12.) 24/7 members leaving after 9pm must perform a closing round to ensure that everything is turned off. If someone else is still in the building, they must ensure that that person is a 24/7 member. If they are staying as your guest, you are required to sign them in here. If not, they must be asked to leave and be escorted out of the premises.
Please note that breach of this contract may result in loss of 24/7 membership and or MakerLabs membership.
