Events in Flex Space


Policy applies to the 2nd floor Boardroom, 1st floor Lounge, Loading Bay and covered parking outside of the Loading Bay doors

Member-sponsored Event - Free for Attendees
- Less than 25 attendees sharing the common space
- The common space is shared with other events\activities happening at MakerLabs
- The event is free to guests \ attendees
- Member is supervising the entire event
- Member is responsible for clearing the space that they need and cleaning up once the event is finished

*MakerLabs reserves the right to change reservations as needed for Member-sponsored Free Events. We will endeavor to provide you with as much notice as possible if this situation arises*

Member-sponsored Event - Attendees Pay ($25 per hour)
- Less than 25 attendees sharing the common space
- The common space is shared with other events\activities happening at MakerLabs
- The event charges an admission fee to guests \ attendees
- Member is supervising the entire event
- Member is responsible for clearing the space that they need and cleaning up once the event is finished

Example: Silver Ring Workshops in the Boardroom

Cancellations within 48 hours of the reservation will be charged 50% of the cost of renting the space.

Member-sponsored Event - Attendees Free/Pay ($60 per hour + $150 cleaning fee) 
- More than 25 attendees sharing the common space 
- The common space is shared with other events\activities happening at MakerLabs
- Member sets up event space and puts it back as found
- Member is supervising the entire event 
- Additional $30 an hour for ML host outside of noon-9pm

Example: Kyubu Market Party

Cancellations within 48 hours of the reservation will be charged 50% of the cost of renting the space.

3rd Party Event  ($40 per hour)
- Less than 25 attendees sharing the common space
- The common space is shared with other events\activities happening at MakerLabs

- 3rd Party is responsible for supervising the entire event
- 3rd Party is responsible for clearing the space that they need and cleaning up once the event is finished

Example: Craft Fair, Corporate Workshops

Cancellations within 5 days of the reservation will be charged 50% of the cost of renting the space.

3rd Party Event with more than 25 people 
Quoted on a case-by-case basis. Deposit required. 
All deposits are NON REFUNDABLE
Lounge: $100 /hr or $800 /day
Lounge & Loading Bay: $375 /hr or $3'000 /day

Loading Bay Rental
- Members are allowed unlimited access
- Non-members/drop-ins must sign up for a monthly membership with us if they would like use the space, and then they are allowed unlimited access until their membership expires/they cancel their membership.
Let customer know:
- No overnighters; must be gone at 9pm.
- No dumping; penalty fee applied if this occurs. Only one bag of garbage permitted. 
- To cancel their recurring monthly membership they must let us know a week in advance before their next billing date.
- To book the loading bay, members must pay short-term storage for how much space they need or non-members can book it out under the event structure

Please note: Members who are late with payment or do not clean up after themselves may be denied flex-space reservations in the future.





Event Licenses
To get granted an arts event license. 
Why do you need it?
  • If the police show up, and you do not have a license, it is the sole discretion of the police to shut down your event immediately
